In celebration of his eight years of being in the music industry and releasing his first album, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has appreciated his senior colleague and YBNL boss, Olamide.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter, now known as X, he reminisces about his first album, Gold, produced by Olamide’s record label and how instrumental it was to his career.
Sharing a photo of the Album cover and tracklist, he appreciated Olamide for giving him a chance as he noted how he was just a young graphic designer who Olamide gave the chance to design his YBNL logo and be a part of the record label.
“Thank you @olamide for giving that young graphic designer the chance to not only design the YBNL logo but to be a part of your family”.
Reacting to it, Olamide reposted the appreciation post on his Twitter page, as he declared the singer his family.
“Fam for life”.
Over the years, Olamide has impacted the lives of Zlatan, Naira Marley, T.I Blaze, Bella Shmurda, Portable, Skales, Phyno, Jaido P, Asake, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, CDQ, and others.
J Brandy, a member of the YBNL music label, celebrated the influence of Olamide, on the Nigerian music scene, as a mentor and a key figure in the development of many Nigerian artists’ careers.
Zlatan who was first signed to Olamide’s label, YBNL, had recounted his impact on his life, attesting to how Olamide had changed his life and the lives of many.
Also, Asake had recounted how Olamide advised him to dump his girlfriend when he became a star. Sharing his story, he expressed how excited he was to have listened to Olamide’s advice, which has made him more financially successful.
Bella Shmurda had stated in an interview that he would pick Olamide before his mother of his children asked him who had more impact on his life.
As a result of his many impacts, Daniel Regha advocated for him in the music industry, as he noted how Olamide has impacted many artists’ careers, yet was been underrated.
