“How many houses have you built for widows?” – Solomon Buchi tackles Daddy Freeze over Pastor Jerry Eze

Solomon Buchi tackles Daddy Freeze

Nigerian social media critic Solomon Buchi has tackled media personality Daddy Freeze over Pastor Jerry Eze.

On Thursday, the popular clergyman turned a year older. In celebration of his 42nd birthday, he built 18 houses for widows and gave N100 million in business grants to young people.

Sharing the news on the micro-blogging platform Twitter, now known as X, he expressed gratitude to Jesus as he noted how what God cannot do doesn’t exist.

Reacting to the news, Solomon Buchi, via his Instagram page, tackled Daddy Freeze, fond of criticising the clergyman and other pastors. He questioned how many houses the media personality has built for widows or how many grants he has given young people. He stated that life is much more than ring light and grammar.

Solomon noted how pastors don’t give for the public eye; they don’t give for philanthropic branding, and that’s why he can die on the hill that most pastors give much more than they get credit for.

“I was quiet when Pastor Jerry Eze was bashed for allegedly making 8 billion Naira from the NSPPD platform on YouTube. The pejorative comments were just dãft. How do you accumulate so much vile that you assume a man who has worked relentlessly deserves no material blessings? You’re just a witch.

Firstly, the whole headline that Pastor Jerry Eze made 9 billion Naira from YouTube was just a rumour, and rumours are easy to conjure up when people want to taint your name because the majority of you do not think! But let’s assume it’s true he made 9 billion, so what?

This man has passionately toiled to raise a prayer culture. There were days he probably had nothing, but he should spit out the consequential benefits of hard work. The people who irk me more are those who call him a fraudster. Oya, go and lead people in prayer if it’s easy.

Pastors (Christians) shouldn’t be driven by money, but if they’re blessed materially for their labour, they should enjoy it without guilt. Theological differences shouldn’t make us criticise everything when we build absolutely nothing.

Well, it’s pastor Jerry’s birthday, and he built houses for widows across Nigeria and is giving out 100m in grants to small businesses, and all the naysayers have swallowed their words. Thing is, that’s probably what he has made public because pastors aren’t politicians.

Pastors don’t give for the public eye; they don’t give for philanthropic branding. That’s why I can die on the hill that most pastors give much more than they get credit for, and it’s fine. I’m a church boy, and if you ask most pastors’ kids, their parents gave without boundaries.

Finally, someone should tag Daddy Freeze – always criticising Pastor Jerry Eze and other pastors. Daddy Freeze, how many houses have you built for widows? How many grants have you given to young people? Life is much more than ring light and grammar”.

Since gaining widespread attention, Pastor Jerry Eze has been topping headlines and breaking records. Early this month, Jerry Eze emerged as Nigeria’s highest-earning YouTube creator, amassing over N7 billion through his prayer meetings, which he streams live mainly from the platform.
