Last year as she marked her 46th birthday, Funke had reflected on her journey into Nollywood. She expressed gratitude to God for being with her throughout her journey so far and appreciated Him for being with her in the very beginning, the Old Nollywood days, and now. The mother of two said she was grateful for the bad, good, and great times.

In an interview with media personality, Toke Makinwa, Funke opened up on how Iyabo Ojo and Sikiratu Sindodo fought for her in the Yoruba industry, during her early career days. According to her, she was being stereotyped because of her physical appearance which many considered ‘ugly’, and this led her to break down in tears in a toilet.

Luckily for her, Sikiratu and Iyabo stood up and fought the producers for looking down on her. Iyabo even went as far as treating her to eatery foods, anytime she was rejected on set.
