Award winning singer Burnaboy just took to Instagram to celebrate the five-year anniversary of one of his greatest albums African Giant.
In his post, Burnaboy expressed how truly humbled he was with the fact that African Giant the album got a lot of support, and how it relates to everyone in one way or another.
Burnaboy also mentioned that he would be having a throwback of the album by performing some songs from it.
African Giant the album made huge waves in the music industry when it was released, and it further expanded the influence of Nigerian music to other countries.
Upon the release of this album, Burnaboy experienced the honor of having his album nominated as Album of the year at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
Although he didn’t win, Burnaboy was able to bounce back and win the same category in 2021 with his Twice as Tall album.
The singer who now refers to himself as the African Giant might as well have every reason to call himself that, as he has put Nigeria on the map musically.
Honored with various awards, both local and internationally, Burnaboy is one of the biggest names in the music industry at the moment.
Burnaboy has had various sold out shows in the O2 Arena in London, which is one of the biggest festival venues in the world.
In Nigeria, his concerts are usually packed, with fans even exceeding venue capacity and beyond.
Even when the singer was hours later to his concert a few years ago and unapologetic at the same time, his fans still waited out in the cold for him.
Managed by his mother since the beginning of his career, Burnaboy has made a name for himself, and has gathered millions of fans all around the world.
He recently broke a record as the first Afro beats opening act at the just concluded Grammy awards, which is quite a huge deal.
