Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, known as Davido, has announced his upcoming collaboration with the iconic Beninese-French singer and songwriter Angelique Kidjo.
The 30BG frontman has yet to drop a single since he released his fourth studio album, Timeless, in March 2023. Since then, he has been on a feature run, bagging four features already in 2024, including crowd favourites like Twe Twe (Rmx) with Kizz Daniel and Ogechi (Rmx) with Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel.
After collaborating on the Timeless album with Kidjo on Na Money, alongside the highlife duo ‘The Cavemen,’ Davido and Kidjo have deemed it fit to thrill their fans with another collaboration, titled “Joy,” produced by ace music producer and Davido’s long-time friend Shizzi.
Taking to social media on Monday, August 26th, 2024, both parties announced the single, with a release date of Friday, August 30th, 2024. According to them, the song “Joy” is a special record that means something special to them. Davido wrote:
Emphasising how joyful the collaboration is for her, Angelique Kidjo, via her Instagram page, wrote:
