“I bought yam for N10,000” – Nkechi Blessing laments over economic hardship after spending N150k in the market (Video)

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has lamented after spending N150k on a few foodstuffs at Sunday market in Ogba.

Taking to her Instagram page, Nkechi Blessing questioned what was the way forward, as she revealed that she went to the market with N150k and yet didn’t return home with a dime. The movie star went to the market to buy 2 kilos of chicken, catfish, life chicken, and goat meat and bought a yam for N1000.

Nkechi noted how Nigerians aren’t complaining about the economy anymore as she questioned if they are comfortable with the hardship. She noted how she isn’t rich, hence why she is complaining.

“So I carried N150k to the market to buy basic things – Turkey 2 kilos, catfish, life chicken, and goat meat. Guess what? N1000 didn’t return home with me. One yam na N10000 now. I noticed that people aren’t talking about the economy anymore; it’s like you guys enjoy it. I am not rich, so I will complain. Besides, even the rich are complaining. I am not the rich but one of the masses, and I am complaining like this.

It’s time to dust my passport because it is no longer getting funny.

Last month, actress, Uche Elendu had lamented over the price of a crate of egg. The movie star, revealed that a crate of egg is being sold for N6000 in her area. Calling out the government, she told them to ban egg in the country as she expressed doubts that a fowl laid the egg.

Yoruba actress, Yewande Adekola Abiodun had also lamented bitterly over the price of a bag of Garri, which is being sold for N80,000. She noted how Garri used to be a poor man’s food, but now, it has become expensive.

During the festive period, last year, Mary Njoku had cried out over the hardship and state of the economy in the country, revealing that she went shopping and spent N100k at the supermarket, yet her trolley was not full.
