Netizens query organisers of BBNaija as they unveil the grand prize for Season 9 winner

Some social media users have queried the organisers of the most anticipated reality show in Africa, Big Brother Naija, after they unveiled the grand prize for Season 9 winner.

In a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, July 17th, Busola Tejumola, Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice, disclosed that the show would begin July 28. According to Tejumola, this year’s edition, which will run for 71 days, promises to be exciting and drama-filled. She further revealed that this year’s edition winner would walk away with a grand prize of N100 million and a new SUV.

Taking to the comment section, many queried if the organisers would pay the winner in full, unlike what they did to season 7 winner Phyna.

In April, Phyna had called out the Big Brother Naija franchise for allegedly owing her, as she is yet to collect all her prizes and money. She stressed the fact that she was going to mind her business so that people wouldn’t call her out for being ungrateful.

Following her continuous clamour, the reality TV star extended the issue to the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skitmaking, and Influencers Guild (PCCSIGN), and they sent a Memo to the organisers urging them to fulfil their promise to the reality star.

The Edo-born star had revealed in an Instagram live session that she fell into depression after the reunion because they started making life difficult for her. She claimed that they didn’t give her ‘her’ money and prizes she was entitled to, especially her BTC, which is worth over a million.
